Orrick announced today that Italian leveraged and acquisition finance advisor Marina Balzano has joined the firm as a partner in Milan. She joins Orrick’s 35-lawyer Italian finance team from Pavia e Ansaldo.
“Marina is a well-respected player in the Italian finance market. She brings deep experience in leveraged and acquisition finance having advised virtually all of the principal banks in Italy. We’re excited to add her skillset to further enhance our finance capabilities in Italy,” said Patrizio Messina, Orrick’s Global Finance Sector Leader and Head of the firm’s Italian Banking & Finance practice.
Marina advises leading Italian and international banks in complex lending transactions, with a particular focus on leveraged and acquisition finance matters, and private placement transactions. Most recently, she counseled a pool of banks, led by UniCredit, in Ardian’s acquisition of a majority stake in Corob S.p.A., and represented Equita in the subscription of a bond issuance to finance private equity firms Ambienta and L Catterton’s acquisition of Pibiplast.
