Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Paolo Zamberletti as partner in its Corporate Practice Group in Milan. Mr. Zamberletti is an experienced corporate lawyer active in M&A, joint venture and other commercial transactions, with a particular focus on the Italian and international energy sector. He joins from K&L Gates in Milan, where he was responsible for its Italian energy practice.

Mr. Zamberletti has 25 years of experience in domestic and cross-border M&A, joint venture and other corporate and commercial transactions, spanning across a variety of industry sectors, including manufacturing, financial, health care and record management sectors. He has a particular focus on the energy sector, including oil & gas, LNG, power and renewables, where he advises clients on transactional, commercial and regulatory matters and supports litigation teams in connection with energy-related disputes.
His experience includes work on the corporate and regulatory aspects of several of projects involving the construction and management of LNG regasification terminals, such as the offshore Rovigo regasification terminal, the largest currently in operation in Italy. He also supports clients in the drafting and negotiation of long-term, take-or-pay LNG and gas sale and purchase agreements, LNG master spot agreements, power purchase agreements, EFET agreements for the sale and purchase of gas and power as well as in various other matters relating to the trading of energy commodities. Mr. Zamberletti has also deep knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable in the gas and power sector in Italy, and routinely advises clients in connection with energy-related administrative proceedings and litigation.
Beginning his legal career with Italian law firm Bonelli Erede Pappalardo in 1997, Mr. Zamberletti subsequently practised at international law firms, including Latham & Watkins in the US in 2002, and DLA Piper (2009-16) in Milan where he became partner. He joined K&L Gates in 2016. Mr. Zamberletti graduated in law from the State University of Milan in 1996 and has an LLM from New York University School of Law. He was admitted to the Italian Bar in 2001 and licensed to practice before the Italian Supreme Court in 2019.
