Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of Peter Waltz as a Member of its Corporate Finance Practice Group resident in the firm’s Milwaukee office. Waltz joins Dykema after practicing at Polsinelli P.C. in Denver, Colorado.
In his practice, Waltz advises companies in all phases of the business cycle and provides ongoing advice and counsel on day-to-day operational, business, and legal issues. Much of his practice focuses on securities compliance matters, including advising publicly reporting companies in transactional, governance, and disclosure matters, as well as advising emerging growth companies on organizational matters, angel financing, venture capital and exempt offering financing transactions. Waltz has knowledge and understanding of various forms of public and private offerings, including under the JOBS Act, offerings under Regulation A, Regulation D, and CrowdFunding transactions. He also works with real estate project and private fund sponsors in capital raising transactions, capital deployment, and compliance matters, as well as regulated financial professionals including registered investment advisers.
Related to his securities experience, Waltz also was part of Polsinelli’s FinTech practice where he helped clients navigate complex federal and state regulatory frameworks in order to structure and operate their businesses. He has represented clients before the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority on matters including broker-dealer registration matters, securities offering platform compliance matters, and securities offering and compliance matters related to digital assets.
Waltz’s experience includes serving as an advisor to clients with respect to mergers and acquisitions and general corporate counseling. He has experience in the preparation and negotiation of documents related to entity selection and formation, corporate structure, corporate governance, merger and acquisitions, and commercial contract matters.

Waltz earned a J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and a B.A. from Colorado State University.
