Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Kurt J. Erickson as a shareholder in the Minneapolis office. Erickson was previously a principal with Jackson Lewis P.C. and a long-time assistant attorney general in Minnesota.
“Kurt has spent nearly 30 years working as outside counsel, in-house counsel and in public service here in Minnesota,” said Andrew J. Voss, office managing shareholder of Littler’s Minneapolis office. “As a result, he has deep roots in the state and has been at the forefront of litigation trends impacting employers. His breadth and depth of experience will be a strong addition to our clients locally and across the country.”
Erickson’s experience includes representing public and private employers in state and federal courts, as well as proceedings before state administrative tribunals. He routinely defends employers in class action litigation, including discrimination charges brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and handled a variety of disputes involving race, gender and disability discrimination while he was with the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office. In serving as in-house corporate counsel for a major airline, Erickson managed nationwide employment litigation and provided counsel on a variety of employment related matters.
“Littler has long been ahead of the curve in its commitment to innovation and developing new approaches to serving clients,” Erickson said. “I am excited to join Littler and leverage the firm’s pioneering approaches, robust Knowledge Management Department and strong subject matter experience of its lawyers around the globe.”
Erickson earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School and his B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Minnesota.
