Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Kevin Walker has joined the firm’s Morristown office as shareholder. Walker joins the firm from McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter in Morristown, where he was a partner.
“The total number of U.S. corporate litigation matters in the United States increased by 11.5 percent from 2018 to 2019, according to BTI Consulting,” said Peter Hughes, who serves as office managing shareholder of the firm’s Morristown office. “And that trend is expected to continue. So we have to make sure we’re providing our clients with top-notch litigators. Kevin has a tremendous amount of litigation experience and will make a great addition to our already stellar litigation team in Morristown.”
Walker is an employment law litigator who has practiced law for 30 years. He has handled matters involving breach of contract, defamation, violation of restrictive covenants, discrimination, and retaliation in federal and state courts throughout the country. He has also handled arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the American Arbitration Association. Walker has extensive experience advising employers in all aspects of employment law, including employee discipline, harassment, leaves of absence, employee compensation, trade secret protection, disability accommodations, regulation of off-duty conduct, and issues presented by whistleblowers.
Walker earned his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden and his B.A. from Susquehanna University.
