Global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added real estate partner Andrei V. Soukhomlinov and corporate and finance partner Dmitry K. Gladkov to its Moscow office. Soukhomlinov joins K&L Gates from Salans LLP, where he was co-head of its Russian real estate/construction practice, while Gladkov was formerly the general counsel for Russia/CIS at leading Russian investment bank Aton and, prior to that, at UBS.
With a focus on real estate and construction law, Soukhomlinov advises domestic and international clients in the real estate, manufacturing, banking, and other sectors on acquisitions, financing, investment and development projects, commercial leases, and property management issues.
Soukhomlinov stated: “K&L Gates has a tremendous global platform in the real estate sector, and the full integration of offices and practices throughout the firm will be of enormous benefit to my international and domestic clients. I am very excited to help the firm expand its real estate practice in the region.”
An experienced transactional lawyer, Gladkov counsels on matters involving project and structured finance, capital markets, corporate finance and regulation, mergers and acquisitions, international tax planning, and financial market regulatory issues, among others.
“Given the ever increasing cross-border nature of Russian transactions, I was attracted to K&L Gates by the strength and depth of its corporate and finance practices worldwide,” said Gladkov. “I very much look forward to the opportunity to help develop the firm’s profile in the Russian market.”
Martin Lane, K&L Gates’ Managing Partner, Europe, stated: “We are delighted that Andrei and Dmitry have decided to join K&L Gates. Their addition is a major step forward for our Moscow office, and emphasizes our commitment to the Russian market. With their arrival, we have further expanded the service offering available to our clients in Russia.”
