Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Thomas Grützner will join the Munich office as a partner in the Litigation & Trial Department. Grützner’s practice focuses on advising corporate and financial institution clients on a variety of complex compliance and white collar crime matters. Grützner joins Latham & Watkins from Baker McKenzie in Munich.
He has particular experience advising clients in adopting compliance management systems and risk mitigation measures, as well as conducting compliance due diligence in connection with M&A transactions, leading internal investigations, and representing clients before government enforcement agencies.

Grützner graduated from the University of Göttingen in 2000, receiving his doctorate summa cum laude in 2002, and undertook his Referendariat at the Brunswick Court of Appeals. He lectures on white collar and compliance topics at Leibniz- Universität Hannover and Universität Saarland, and serves as a visiting lecturer at Freie Universität Berlin, where he was awarded a professorship in 2018.
