Global law firm Dentons will strengthen its Corporate and M&A, Private Equity and Capital Markets practices with the addition of three lawyers as of October 1, 2016. Partner Thomas Strassner, Dipl.-Kfm., will join Dentons along with Counsel Christopher Mayston and Associate Michael Rebholz, LLM. The Munich office, which opened in July 2016 with a team led by Office Managing Partner Dr. Alexander von Bergwelt, will hence grow to more than 20 lawyers.
Thomas Strassner and his team previously worked for Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in Munich. Strassner specializes in company restructuring, private equity, venture capital, financing and M&A transactions and related litigation and dispute resolution. He works with clients in the information technology, healthcare and life sciences sectors, including startups, growth companies and investors. Strassner was the lead counsel to an international investor syndicate led by TVM Life Sciences regarding an investment in leon-nanodrugs and NEO New Oncology in the context of the companies’ financing and takeover by Siemens Healthineers. Additionally, Strassner has expertise in capital markets law. Along with Christopher Mayston, who is specialized in capital markets he advised inter alia Pieris AG in an indirect US stock listing.
Christopher Mayston specializes in banking and finance, capital markets and corporate law. He advises banks and financial service providers as well as listed companies to related issues of banking and capital markets law. In addition he has worked in corporate finance, general corporate law including transformation law. Christoph advised, among others, the Capita Group in the context of a merger with TUI AG with TUI Travel PLC. Issuers and banks in various bond issues. Most recently recycling logistics provider RLG at a group-wide secured financing.
