International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised TSE listed water treatment company Kurita Water Industries (Kurita) on its acquisition of water treatment and chemical production businesses from NYSE listed industrial, Israel Chemicals Limited.
The assets, based in Germany, China, France, Italy, Israel and Sweden have been acquired for €250m (US$317m) in a deal that was signed on 27 October 2014.
Kurita is Japan’s leading water treatment company in the industrial field, and the transaction will see their position further enhanced in the European market.
The Freshfields team that advised Kurita was led by corporate partners Takeshi Nakao in Tokyo and Barbara Keil in Munich.
