Burr & Forman LLP announces the arrival of six partners to the firm’s Nashville office. These additions bolster Burr & Forman’s Nashville capabilities in a number of practice areas, and reflect the firm’s commitment to growth in Tennessee in response to both client needs and regional economic growth. With the arrival of these six attorneys, Burr & Forman now has a total of 16 attorneys in Nashville and 38 attorneys licensed to practice in Tennessee across nine offices in five states.
“Nashville continues to emerge as a national leader across a range of industry sectors, particularly in the areas that complement our firm’s strengths, including the financial institutions, health care and manufacturing sectors,” said W. Lee Thuston, managing partner of Burr & Forman. “These significant additions directly support our firm’s strategic plan to grow in tandem with regional economic growth, not only in Tennessee, but across our Southeastern footprint.”
The new Burr & Forman attorneys were previously with the Nashville office of Stites & Harbison PLLC, and include partners Matthew J. DeVries, Robert C. Goodrich, Jr., Garry K. Grooms, Madison L. Martin, Stephen H. Price and M. Clark Spoden.
“With Tennessee as home to a growing number of national and international companies, our ability to serve not only as legal counsel, but also as trusted business partners with our clients, is paramount,” added Thomas K. Potter III, managing partner of Burr & Forman’s Nashville office. “In the last 12 months alone, at least 14 manufacturers have announced plans to open in or relocate to Nashville, and of course, the city has long been a hub for major health care innovation. We are confident that the experience of these new attorneys – combined with our deep industry strengths across our entire footprint – strongly positions us to meet the evolving needs of companies with a Tennessee presence.”
The new attorneys practice in the areas of commercial litigation, construction, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy, labor and employment, and products liability.
“We have had longstanding relationships with and respect for the attorneys at Burr & Forman and are excited to join their team,” said Stephen H. Price, who previously served as the executive member of Stites & Harbison’s Nashville office. “While it was a difficult decision to leave a firm where we have many friends and had good experiences, we are enthusiastic about the opportunity to join Burr & Forman. The firm’s growing presence in major Southeastern markets and its deep bench of industry experience in the key areas that are positively impacting our state make this the right opportunity for us to extend our reach.”
