Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP Adds Team of Labor and Employment Attorneys to New York Office

The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announces that three Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP attorneys have joined the firm’s Labor & Employment practice as partners in the New York office.

The attorneys that have joined Hinshaw are Ivan D. SmithMaureen M. Stampp and Gregory S. Glickman. Their arrival will bolster Hinshaw’s labor & employment capabilities nationally, as well as locally in New York.

Mr. Smith, Ms. Stampp and Mr. Glickman are the first group to join Hinshaw’s New York office since the office moved to a larger location at 800 Third Avenue in August. Under the new 10-year lease, Hinshaw occupies the entire 13th floor of the building, or 20,010 square feet. The new location gives the firm an increase of more than 8,700 square feet from the space it leased at its former location of 10 years.

About the New York Attorneys Joining Hinshaw

Ivan D. Smith is one of New York’s premier employment, labor and entertainment lawyers. At Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP he was co-chair of the Entertainment practice and vice chair of the Labor & Employment group. He has represented clients in education, healthcare, sports, entertainment, food service, hotel, construction, maintenance, shipping, airline, trucking, and engineering industries.

Mr. Smith has extensive experience in employment discrimination cases, with a specialty in class and multi-plaintiff cases in various states and federal courts across the country. His experience also includes representing clients in collective bargaining contract and grievance arbitrations, litigation concerning unfair labor practices and representational matters before the National Labor Relations Board. His representation also includes advising institutions concerning benefits and pension issues under the Taft-Hartley Act and ERISA as well as advising Welfare plans concerning privacy and data breach issues.

Mr. Smith’s entertainment practice includes representing Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Grammy and Emmy award winning producers, writers, directors and artists in the music, television and film industries. He has also acted as General Counsel to several entertainment companies in the film, music and television industries and also represents investors in the film and music industry.

Mr. Smith earned his J.D. (1988) from Albany Law School, and his B.A. (1984) from Tufts University.

Maureen M. Stampp has practiced in the area of labor and employment law for more than fourteen years. She represents clients before various administrative agencies, including the NLRB, PERB, SDHR, and EEOC. She has also provided legal services for various clients in the healthcare, maritime, food service, trucking, engineering, and media industries, and has also represented teachers, lawyers and municipal unions.

Ms. Stampp’s extensive court litigation experience includes representing clients in employment discrimination, WARN Act, ERISA, and employment contract matters in federal and state courts. Her experience also includes arbitrating disciplinary, contract interpretation, and employment cases before the AAA and the NASD. She is also an adjunct professor at SUNY Empire State College teaching labor and employment law.

Ms. Stampp earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School (1992), and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Fordham University (1989).

Gregory Glickman practices in the area of labor and employment law and represents clients in a variety of workplace discrimination and traditional labor issues. He advises clients on labor and employment matters and assists in their representation in associated litigation.

Mr. Glickman earned his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center (2005), and his B.A. from Cornell University (2002).
