Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan brought aboard Tai-Heng Cheng to fill a New York legal job, according to a press release.
Cheng joins the firm as a partner for the international arbitration practice, becoming the sixth specialist in international arbitration to accept a job with the firm during the past nine months.
“Quinn Emanuel’s attorneys, who are among the sharpest in the world, have consistently achieved tremendous successes for their clients,” Cheng said. “The firm is a world leader in every practice area it has developed. I look forward to contributing to Quinn Emanuel’s drive to become the preeminent international arbitration practice.”
Managing partner Peter Calamari said Cheng will offer a very necessary expertise for the firm’s interests in New York while also serving as a vital link to Asian markets, both of which bolster the law firm’s practice in international arbitration.
Bilingual in English and Mandarin, Cheng underwent his legal education in the U.S., England and Singapore. He teaches at New York University and has served as a visiting law professor at Vanderbilt University, Hebrew University and City University of Hong Kong.
