Watson, Farley & Williams (WFW), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that it has advised Golar LNG Partners LP on its shelf takedown offering of 4,300,000 units of limited partner interest and a private placement of 1,524,590 common units sold to Golar LNG Limited. Both transactions closed in November 2012.
The net proceeds from the offering, concurrent private placement and other finance received funded the cash portion of the purchase price for the acquisition of an LNG carrier from Golar LNG Limited, as well as for general partnership purposes.
WFW’s New York and London offices acted as Marshall Islands and English counsel to the client.
The WFW team in New York was led by partner and New York office head Daniel Rodgers, who was assisted by counsel Steven Hollander and associate C.J. Chido. The London team was led by partner Frances Steel, who was assisted by associates Charlotte Cory-Pearce and Sarah McCarthy.
Commenting on the deal, Daniel Rodgers said: “This transaction highlights WFW’s ability as a global law firm to seamlessly represent one client in multiple locations. Shipping is a worldwide business and clients require legal advice relating to multiple jurisdictions. We are also seeing continued capital markets activity in the shipping sector, as shipping clients look to alternative sources of funding.”
