Stevens & Lee announced today that Zdzislaw “Zee” Wieckowski has joined the firm’s Corporate, Finance and Capital Markets practice and will reside in its New York City office.
Mr. Wieckowski represents clients domestically as well as internationally with an emphasis on Central and Eastern European and other emerging markets. He has worked across virtually all European jurisdictions, as well as several in Africa, the Middle East and Asia, having spent 17 years abroad working for an international law firm before recently returning to the United States.
Mr. Wieckowski’s practice focuses on private equity and venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged acquisitions, public company takeovers and public-to-private transactions. He also represents companies, shareholders and creditors in restructuring transactions. He has served on the boards of several investment funds and is experienced in fund formation and operations.
Mr. Wieckowski has represented clients in the technology, media, telecommunications, financial services, food, health care and life sciences, hotel development, retail, building materials, infrastructure (e.g. water, waste and roadways) and traditional and renewable energy sectors.
He has presented at conferences on issues relating to cross border transactions and for the last 15 years has taught courses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and debt financings at the Warsaw Institute of Technology’s MBA program. He has been cited as a leading private equity lawyer in Chambers Global – EMEA, PLC Which Lawyer? and in Legal 500.
Mr. Wieckowski received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1978, a B.A. from Boston University and did his MBA studies at Boston College.
He is fluent in Polish and has working knowledge of Russian.
