Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, announced that Michael R. Gordon, Eli R. Mattioli and Andrew L. Morrison have joined the firm’s New York office as partners in the Litigation Division. They join from K&L Gates, where all three were litigation partners.

Gordon, Mattioli and Morrison add to the growing group of litigators in Manatt’s New York office, which also includes Mark Peroff and Darren Saunders, who joined Manatt’s New York office as partners in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in April 2012.

Michael R. Gordon has a successful track record representing a highly diversified clientele in complex commercial disputes through litigation and arbitration in the United States and abroad. His clients come from a wide range of industries, including finance, real estate, construction, engineering, apparel and luxury goods. Gordon has also conducted internal investigations and has experience representing clients before the New York State Banking Department and the U.S. Office of Comptroller of the Currency. He is skilled in mediation, both as an advocate and a court-certified mediator. A frequent writer and speaker on litigation and professional ethics, Gordon earned his B.A. cum laude from Cornell University and his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

Eli R. Mattioli is an accomplished commercial litigator who has extensive experience representing companies in a wide range of complex issues, including domestic and foreign investments, sales transactions, corporate and partnership matters, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, insurance, taxation, and securities. He focuses on litigation, arbitration and counseling for corporate, commercial, real estate, construction and energy clients. A member of the American Arbitration Association’s National Roster of Neutral Arbitrators, Mattioli also represents domestic and international clients in arbitration proceedings. Widely published on commercial litigation matters, Mattioli earned a B.S. from Villanova University, a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School.

Andrew L. Morrison is a highly skilled commercial litigator who focuses his practice on matters involving securities fraud claims, fiduciary duty claims, complex commercial disputes, financial services, investment management, shareholder disputes and contests for corporate control. Morrison’s clients include large corporations, high-net-worth individuals, funds and fund managers, and major financial institutions. In addition to counseling clients appearing before state and federal investigative agencies, he is experienced in alternate dispute resolution in both domestic and international forums and has extensive appellate experience in state and federal courts. Morrison earned a B.A. cum laude with high honors from Brandeis University and a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.
