Restructuring Partner Scott Greenberg Joins Jones Day in New York

The global law firm Jones Day is pleased to announce that Scott Greenberg has joined the Business Restructuring & ReorganizationPractice as a partner in the New York Office. Mr. Greenberg arrives from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, where he was a partner in that firm’s Financial Restructuring Department.

“Scott is an outstanding restructuring lawyer with deep experience on both debtor and creditor representations,” said Paul Leake, who chairs Jones Day’s global Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice. “He is a great addition to our global practice and, in particular, to our substantial practice representing private equity and hedge funds in complex restructurings.”

Mr. Greenberg has significant experience advising both debtor and creditor clients in chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings. Notably on the debtor side, he advised Lyondell Chemical Company, Atkins Nutritionals, and Adelphia Business Solutions, among others. Mr. Greenberg’s recent creditor representations include advising the senior secured lenders to InterCity Media Corp. and the pass thru certificate holders in AES Eastern’s chapter 11 cases. In addition, he has considerable experience in sports and gaming/casino-related matters, having advised the first lien lenders in BLB/Twin River Casinos chapter 11 cases and the bondholders of Black Gaming, as well as the senior lenders to Rivera Casinos in Las Vegas, the Portland Trailblazers in their out-of-court restructuring, and Ice Edge Holdings in the Phoenix Coyotes’s chapter 11 cases.

Mr. Greenberg was named “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer 2011” by Turnarounds & Workouts. He frequently writes on gaming and restructuring topics, and is co-author of The PRC Enterprise Bankruptcy Law: The People’s Work in Progress (Beard Group, Inc. 2008). He is a graduate of Emory Law School, Order of the Coif, and received his undergraduate degree from Boston University. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
