Arent Fox Adds Two More New York Partners to Its Market-Leading Intellectual Property Practice

For the second time this year, Arent Fox LLP is pleased to announce the expansion of its internationally recognized Intellectual Property practice in New York with the addition of two marquee partners. Linda Shudy Lecomte and Michelle Mancino Marsh have joined the firm from the New York office of intellectual property boutique Kenyon & Kenyon LLP, where Ms. Marsh was chair of the Fashion, Apparel and Footwear practice and Ms. Lecomte was co-chair of the Video Game Law group. Already in 2015, Arent Fox has added four intellectual property partners in New York and a total of 17 lawyers and professionals to its firmwide Intellectual Property practice.

Ms. Marsh, a noted intellectual property litigator and counselor, focuses on matters for leading fashion and consumer brands. Ms. Lecomte is a patent counselor and litigator, primarily for computer technology, software, and life sciences companies. Ms. Marsh and Ms. Lecomte combine their talents and nearly 40 years of experience on a variety of emerging wearable technology issues involving the retail and fashion industry, including jointly representing an iconic fashion retailer.

Ms. Marsh advises companies on all facets of intellectual property protection and executes intellectual property defense measures, such as brand protection programs, anti-counterfeiting and anti-piracy measures, and co-branding and licensing agreements. She handles matters in state and federal courts, appellate venues, and at the US Patent and Trademark Office and the US Copyright Office. She also counsels on acquisitions involving intellectual property assets. In addition, Ms. Marsh advises alcoholic beverage, computer software, biotechnology, education, financial services, and media and entertainment companies.

Ms. Lecomte is patent counselor to a broad spectrum of technology companies, including telecommunications operators and manufacturers; enterprise, healthcare, video compression, and e-commerce software providers; aerospace, automotive component, and medical device manufacturers; and textile and interactive gaming system producers. She regularly counsels on strategic intellectual property portfolio management and procurement and she conducts due diligence evaluations, licensing negotiations, patent assertion entity negotiations, and domestic and foreign utility and design patent and trademark prosecution. Ms. Lecomte has handled patent, trade secret, and licensing matters in litigation and arbitration.

Ms. Marsh earned her law degree from Fordham University School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the Fordham Moot Court. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science, cum laude, from Boston University. Ms. Lecomte received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School. She received her Bachelors of Electrical Engineering, with Mathematics Minor, from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology.
