Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international technology and energy law firm, is pleased to announce that Brendan Quigley, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, has joined the firm’s White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations practice as a partner in New York.

An Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York for almost seven years, Mr. Quigley was a senior member of the Office’s Securities and Commodities Fraud Unit. Most recently, he participated in a multi-defendant racketeering prosecution, arising out of the world’s largest private equity insolvency, and also obtained the conviction of a New York media personality on securities and wire fraud charges following a high-profile trial. In all, Mr. Quigley tried 12 cases to verdict and briefed or argued 11 appeals in the Second Circuit. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and earned his B.S. from Cornell University. Prior to law school, he served in the United States Marine Corps as an artillery officer, completing two tours of duty in Iraq, ultimately earning the rank of Captain.

Mr. Quigley’s addition represents another recent hire of a former federal government official by Baker Botts. Within the past year, the firm has added former Federal Trade Commission Chair and Commissioner, Maureen Ohlhausen; former Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Justice Department’s Environment & Natural Resources Division, Jeffrey H. Wood; former Assistant Chief of the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, San Francisco, Peter Huston; and Deputy General Counsel for Litigation, Regulation and Enforcement at the U.S. Department of Energy, George Fibbe.
