Baker Botts Strengthens Global Litigation Team with Cross-Border Disputes Expert in New York

Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm is pleased to announce that Linda H. Martin has joined the firm as a partner in its litigation practice.  Martin arrives at the firm from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in New York.

With extensive experience in resolving complex, strategic, and cross-border commercial disputes, Linda handles high-stakes litigation, arbitration, and mediation across a wide range of industries and practice areas. Throughout her career, Linda has focused on providing her clients with practical, results-oriented advice that keeps their business needs front of mind. She is also particularly adept at helping clients who are facing multinational legal challenges navigate the overlapping and sometimes conflicting procedural, factual, and regulatory regimes in which they operate. Linda was formerly co-head of the U.S. commercial litigation practice for Freshfields. She was also co-head of its global class and collective actions group.

“Linda is a superstar, and we are thrilled to have her join us. Her track record of performance is impeccable. She is counseling clients on bet-the-company, existential-level risks and in that sense she will fit right in with our Litigation group,” said Danny David, Managing Partner of Baker Botts. “The kind of issues we handle for our clients tend to be multi-disciplinary, multi-jurisdictional, and multi-faceted. It’s hard to think of someone who can span those lengths as well as Linda. I’m delighted to welcome her here.”

This latest arrival strengthens Baker Botts’ commitment to providing top-tier service for clients engaged in high-stakes disputes, both domestically and internationally. Linda’s clients span multiple sectors, and she has regularly appeared in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts across the U.S., handling disputes involving sophisticated legal issues and jurisdictions.

“We are thrilled to have Linda joining us at Baker Botts,” said Bridget Moore, Baker Botts Litigation Department Chair. “Her deep understanding of global legal issues and her collaborative approach align perfectly with our firm’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions to our clients.”

“I am excited to join Baker Botts, a firm with a longstanding reputation for excellence in dispute resolution,” said Linda Martin. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues to continue delivering exceptional service to our clients and expanding the firm’s capabilities in resolving complex, high-value and strategically important commercial disputes.”
