Baker McKenzie Adds Leading Life Sciences Duo in New York

Baker McKenzie has added highly regarded life sciences lawyers Randall “Randy” Sunberg and Denis Segota in New York, further expanding the firm’s transactional capabilities in the life sciences sector.  Randy and Denis join Baker McKenzie from Morgan Lewis.

Randy brings more than 35 years of experience advising life sciences clients ranging from biotech startups to multinational pharmaceutical and medical device companies. He structures and negotiates complex collaborations, joint ventures and licensing transactions, as well as equity investments and royalty monetization transactions. He also counsels on alternative financing arrangements and handles technical contractual arrangements for drug discovery, development, manufacturing and supply, marketing and co-promotion and outsourcing in the life sciences industry.

Denis brings more than 20 years of experience advising clients on M&A and private financing transactions. He represents both financial institutions and companies in royalty monetizations, venture capital and other private equity financing. In addition, he advises companies in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors on joint ventures, strategic alliances, licensing and other partnering arrangements promoting the research, development, and commercialization of new products.

Randy and Denis will join the Firm’s Healthcare Industry group and its North America Corporate & Securities practice. Randy will be the co-head of the firm’s North America Life Sciences practice. Randy and Denis will be members of the Firm’s New York office but will operate out of Princeton, New Jersey, along the life sciences corridor.

Randy received his BA from Yale University and his JD from New York University School of Law. Denis received his BS from Rutgers University and his JD from Rutgers University School of Law.
