BakerHostetler today announced the addition of Partner Pierre R. Yanney to the firm’s Intellectual Property Group and patent litigation team, resident in the New York office. Yanney comes to BakerHostetler from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP.
Yanney brings more than 20 years of experience in both patent litigation and prosecution to the firm’s nationwide practice. He combines his experience as a seasoned litigator and an electrical engineer to protect the value of his clients’ intellectual property in federal and district courts throughout the United States and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Yanney advises companies in an array of high-tech industries, including electronic systems and controls, telecommunications, RFID components and systems, and electronic medical devices and instruments.

Yanney earned his B.S. and an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1988, and he received his J.D. with honors from Rutgers University in 1993, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. Prior to completing law school, he specialized in circuit design for communication systems at AT&T Bell Laboratories.
