Eric Blanchard is joining Cooley’s capital markets practice as a partner in the New York office. He arrives from Covington & Burling, where he was global chair of its capital markets and securities practice.

Blanchard advises clients on initial public offerings, follow-on equity offerings, pre-IPO financings, investment-grade debt offerings, liability management transactions, proxy contests and acquisitions. He counsels leading public and private companies, with an emphasis on those in the healthcare industry, as well as investment banks. Blanchard also regularly represents public companies with securities and disclosure issues and corporate governance matters. He has been recognized by global publications such as Chambers, Legal 500 and IFLR1000.
