Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, announces today that Christopher Kula has joined the Firm’s Corporate practice as partner, resident in the New York office. Kula’s background meets the growing demand for fund formation work from both existing and prospective clients. His practice spans structuring, governance, operations and compliance for capital markets, corporate, private equity, real estate finance and venture technology clients. Kula joins Dentons from the New York office of Cole, Schotz, Meisel, Forman & Leonard, P.A.
Kula was in private practice prior to joining the Firm, and before that, served as in-house counsel at a private equity firm. His experience includes working with a variety of private investment funds, including private equity, real estate and venture capital funds, as well as handling a wide range of corporate and securities work for both emerging and established companies. Clients value Kula’s ability to seamlessly handle complex matters as he is often sought out for his experience in structuring investment vehicles, blocker companies, partnerships and joint ventures, as well as handling private placements, “secondaries” and other private capital market transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. At Dentons, Kula’s work will serve capital markets, corporate, private equity and venture technology clients.
“Chris is strong player in the fund formation space with experience that fills the needs of our clients as the demand for such work continues to grow exponentially in New York and elsewhere,” said Donald Hammett, head of Dentons’ US Corporate practice. “His years of experience working in-house with a private equity firm followed by several years in private practice offer him a unique perspective on the opportunities and challenges faced by clients in the private equity and venture capital space, ultimately helping them to better operate and finance their businesses.”
Kula represents sponsors, private investment funds, investment managers, limited partners, emerging and established companies, entrepreneurs and executives across a number of industries including financial services, technology, real estate, healthcare and media.
