Mintz announced today that Jason C. Vigna has joined the firm as a Member in its Securities Litigation Practice in New York. Mr. Vigna represents clients in complex securities and commercial litigation, as well as corporate governance matters, in trial and appellate courts throughout the country and before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Vigna comes to Mintz from Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.
“We are delighted to be able to add someone as talented and collaborative as Jason to our highly regarded and very active Securities Litigation Practice,” said Bob Bodian, Managing Member of Mintz. “His track record for resolving high profile disputes under federal and state securities laws provides yet another valuable asset to our clients across multiple industries.”
Mr. Vigna has substantial experience helping technology and life sciences companies, asset management firms, and other sophisticated companies, as well as their directors and officers, successfully resolve disputes involving a wide variety of federal and state shareholder- and fraud-related statutes, including the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Securities Act of 1933, the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and the Delaware General Corporation Law. He also has litigated a broad range of related common law claims.
Among other successes, Mr. Vigna has had numerous victories in litigation arising from Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme. He successfully defended an asset manager and its employees in more than 60 class, derivative, bankruptcy and individual actions arising from Madoff-related investments, as well as a global financial services company against multibillion-dollar RICO and bankruptcy clawback claims brought by the trustee of the Madoff estate.
