Ellis George Cipollone Adds Two New Partners to the Firm

Ellis George Cipollone O’Brien Annaguey LLP (EGC) has added two partners to the firm — John Coghlan, promoted from the Washington D.C. office, and James Bliss who will join the New York office. We are thrilled to welcome the newest partners of the EGC family.

John Coghlan is a seasoned litigator who advises clients on high-stakes, high-profile investigations, complex litigation, and appeals. John brings extensive experience from the highest levels of federal and state governments. Prior to joining EGC, John served as Deputy Solicitor General from the State of Mississippi, which included argument before the Supreme Court. Prior to that he served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the United States Department of Justice leading the Federal Programs Branch and Civil Division.

James Bliss joins EGC from Paul Hastings LLP, where he was a partner in their litigation practice handling cutting-edge cases and advising on critical issues for major corporations and financial institutions. James’ experience ranges across multiple practice areas, including litigation, complex litigation and arbitration, and life sciences and healthcare. In addition, he has also led a number of speaking engagements for legal news publications, including Law360 and the New York Law Journal.
