Epstein Becker Green (“EBG”) is pleased to announce that Robert P. Lewis has joined as a Member of the Firm in the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management (“ELWM”) practice in New York. He joins from Baker McKenzie.
Mr. Lewis has extensive experience representing multinational and domestic employers and management in matters regarding harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour requirements, gender pay equity, and restrictive covenants and trade secrets. He also structures layoffs in compliance with federal and state WARN Acts and, most recently, has provided guidance on COVID-19-related issues.
In addition to serving his clients, including those in the financial services, health care, luxury retail, and other industries, Mr. Lewis has led ground-breaking international pro bono projects relating to global poverty, international human rights, and anti-terrorism legal initiatives. For his efforts, Mr. Lewis was bestowed the Jeremy G. Epstein Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service from the New York City Bar Association’s City Bar Justice Center in 2014.
“As employment law issues have become increasingly more nuanced and challenging for multinational companies to navigate, I am thrilled to join a firm with such exceptional and focused employment law capabilities,” said Mr. Lewis. “The firm’s deep nationwide bench provides the opportunity to serve multinational clients with U.S. operations, but at the same time offering global workforce solutions through its strategic alliance with Deloitte Legal.”
“Rob is a trusted advisor with strong counseling and litigation skills and he will be a terrific addition to our team,” said David W. Garland, Chair of the firm’s National ELWM Steering Committee. “EBG is well-positioned to assist multinational public and private companies with the many complex international employment and human resources matters that arise. As we continue to grow our practice, we look forward to continuing to bring on the highest caliber talent to help support our clients to the fullest.”
