Executive Compensation Partner Romica Singh Joins Akin Gump in New York

Akin Gump is pleased to announce that leading executive compensation and employee benefits lawyer Romica Singh has joined the firm as a partner in its New York office. Ms. Singh brings over 15 years of executive compensation experience in both transactional and day-to-day matters involving the design of compensation and benefit arrangements. Prior to joining Akin Gump, Ms. Singh was a partner at Gunderson Dettmer and previously worked at Cravath and Paul Weiss.

Ms. Singh regularly counsels public and private companies on the design of various compensation and benefit arrangements, including equity and cash incentive programs, and assists companies in navigating tax laws specific to executive compensation. She also advises companies on the recruitment of senior executives and is experienced in negotiating executive employment, retention, change-in-control and separation agreements.

With a great depth of practice, Ms. Singh has extensive knowledge of, and experience in, handling compensation and benefits matters arising in the context of mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, initial public offerings, restructurings and other corporate transactions and has worked on a number of notable cross-border and domestic transactions across a wide array of industries. Her practice also includes advising clients on securities laws and corporate governance matters related to executive compensation.
