Uri Itkin, a nationally recognized litigator and trial attorney who regularly represents hedge funds, private equity firms and other investors in investment-related disputes, has joined Akin Gump as a partner in the firm’s investment funds litigation practice. Mr. Itkin was previously a partner at Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP.
Mr. Itkin represents investment funds in a variety of commercial and securities disputes, including matters involving structured finance, distressed corporate debt and real estate transactions. Mr. Itkin has represented clients on both sides of the “v.” in state and federal courts, arbitrations and trust instruction proceedings across the country.

Mr. Itkin maintains an active pro bono practice and is fluent in Russian. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and his law degree at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
