Akerman welcomes our newest litigation partner, Keith Blackman. Blackman joins the New York City office where his practice will focus on representing financial services institutions and other commercial clients in cases alleging fraud, racketeering, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and securities law violations. Blackman arrives at the firm from Bracewell LLP.
“Keith’s work with some of the largest financial institutions in the world complements perfectly the work we are known for in that space,” said Lawrence Rochefort, Litigation Practice Group Chair. “We are pleased to have him join us and expect great things.”
Throughout his 20-year career, Blackman has established himself as a prominent advocate for some of the nation’s largest financial institutions in high-stakes commercial disputes. He regularly appears in trial and appellate courts throughout the country. Blackman’s practice extends beyond the courtroom, as he also advocates for clients before Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitration panels. Blackman advises clients on cryptocurrency and blockchain issues as well.
“I am thrilled to join Akerman, a firm renowned for its exceptional financial services litigation practice,” said Blackman. “The opportunity to collaborate with Akerman’s top-tier attorneys and contribute to the firm’s proven success in this ever-changing area of law is incredibly exciting.”
