Jeffrey I. D. Lewis has joined Foley Hoag LLP as a partner in the Intellectual Property Department and member of the Intellectual Property Litigation practice. He is resident in the firm’s New York office. Prior to joining Foley Hoag, Lewis was a partner in the New York office of NortonRoseFulbright.

A chemical engineer and registered patent attorney, Lewis concentrates on patent and trademark litigation, counseling, and licensing, as well as other intellectual property and general litigation. He also represents pharmaceutical innovators in Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) patent litigations.

“Throughout his career, Jeff has successfully represented clients in a wide range of high stakes intellectual property-related disputes,” said Foley Hoag Co-Managing Partner Kenneth Leonetti. “His extensive experience in these areas is a significant addition to our IP group and will enhance our ability to represent our pharmaceutical, mechanical, medical device, biotechnology and life sciences clients. Lewis is a past President of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the U.S. national group of the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. His Juris Doctorate is from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
