Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce the continuing expansion of its Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) practice in New York with the arrival of Luke P. Iovine, III as a partner. Iovine will further strengthen the firm’s M&A team, which had an extraordinary year in 2021, having advised on some of the highest-profile transactions of the year, including Oracle Corporation’s US$28.3 billion acquisition of Cerner Corporation and IBM’s worldwide separation and reorganization of its managed infrastructure services business, Kyndryl Holdings, Inc. Iovine is the fourth corporate partner to join the New York office this month. His arrival follows that of M&A partners Peter Cohen-Millstein and Megan Ridley-Kaye, and private equity partner Parik Dasgupta. He joins Hogan Lovells from the New York office of Paul Hastings, where he was a partner.
Iovine’s practice is focused on mergers, equity and asset acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, and corporate governance and general corporate matters.
Global Corporate & Finance Practice Group Leader James Doyle commented: “Luke’s arrival reflects our commitment to enhancing our M&A capabilities in key markets, such as New York. He is a strong addition to our New York M&A team and brings more than 30 years of extensive transactional experience. He has represented numerous companies and investors in the commercial real estate, telecommunications/data center, media & entertainment, financial services and other industries. In addition, Luke’s practice includes considerable experience in Latin American transactions, which will further strengthen our capabilities in that region and build on our recent addition of Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects partner, Rich Puttre, to our Miami office.”
Bill Curtin, who serves as Hogan Lovells’ Global Head of Mergers and Acquisitions, remarked: “Our M&A practice was extremely active in 2021, advising clients on significant transactions around the globe. To meet client demand and broaden our client offerings, we continue to invest in New York. Luke brings to our clients decades of experience in sophisticated and complex M&A transactions. He is a hands-on practitioner and a trusted advisor to clients across a wide array of transactions and industries, including sectors that are strategic priorities for some of our most significant clients, such as media & entertainment, diversified industrials and real estate.”
Iovine added: “Hogan Lovells has an impressive global platform, including a talented and deep bench of M&A practitioners in important markets around the world, including in New York, Miami, Mexico and Brazil. In addition, the firm’s broad and talented group of regulatory, tax and other specialists will enable me to provide the highest level of legal services to clients. I am excited to be a part of the firm’s growth in New York and to contribute to Hogan Lovells’ culture of client-focused collaboration across practice groups and borders.”
In 2021, Hogan Lovells was ranked by Chambers USA as an “Elite” firm for Corporate and M&A work.
