Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce the further growth of its Corporate & Finance practice group with the arrival of private equity partner Parikshit Dasgupta in New York. Dasgupta is the third partner to join the Corporate & Finance practice group in the United States in 2022. Dasgupta joins the firm from Reed Smith, where he was a partner.
Global Corporate & Finance Practice Group Leader James Doyle commented: “Our Corporate & Finance practice group had an extremely successful year in 2021 and has exciting growth plans to meet the continued demand. In the United States, we welcomed Rich Puttré in Miami and Denis Segota in Philadelphia in January, and we are laying plans to make further additions in strategic markets. We are delighted that Parik has decided to join us and his arrival will continue the growth of our corporate and finance capabilities in New York.”
Dasgupta practice focuses on the establishment, management, and regulation of private investment funds. He regularly represents both U.S. and non-U.S. sponsors of buyout, growth capital, secondary, distressed debt, energy, infrastructure, technology, venture, credit opportunities, and geographically oriented funds. Dasgupta advises on spin-outs, establishment of new asset management businesses, seeding arrangements, and joint ventures.
David Winter, who serves as co-head of the firm’s Investment Funds practice group, remarked: “Private capital’s ascendency is expected to continue, and we are committed to growing our U.S. private equity and investment funds practices to best serve client needs in this space. Parik is an entrepreneurial lawyer who has represented numerous investment houses and other leading financial institutions. He will greatly complement our established investment funds teams in the United States, London, Luxemburg, Australia, and China.”
Dasgupta added: “Hogan Lovells’s Corporate & Finance practice group has a terrific reputation along with a truly global reach that will allow me to better serve my client base in the U.S. and Europe. I was also impressed by the cohesiveness of the firm’s robust investment funds team. I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues.”
