Mayer Brown announced today that John Boelter has rejoined the firm as a partner in its Corporate & Securities practice in New York. Previously, he was a partner with Greenberg Traurig LLP in Chicago. Mr. Boelter was a lawyer in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office from 2005 to 2015.
“John is highly regarded for his strong track record of handling strategic cross-border M&A deals and other complex transactions on behalf of domestic and international companies across a wide range of industries, particularly in the life sciences and insurance sectors,” said Marc Sperber, leader of Mayer Brown’s global Corporate & Securities practice. “His impressive skill set enhances Mayer Brown’s Corporate & Securities capabilities in New York and beyond, and we are thrilled to welcome him back to the firm.”
Mr. Boelter focuses his practice on corporate matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. He represents purchasers and sellers of domestic, foreign and multinational businesses in complex public and private mergers, stock and asset acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, strategic alliances, venture capital and other private equity investments, financings, recapitalizations and reorganizations. He also represents issuers and underwriters in public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, consent solicitations, tender offers and exchange offers, and he provides counsel on securities compliance and corporate governance matters.
