The New York office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes James C.H. Lee as a partner in the private equity practice. He joins K&L Gates from Goodwin Procter LLP.
Lee has extensive experience advising private equity funds, venture capital funds, private investment firms, high-net-worth family offices, and their respective portfolio companies in a variety of domestic and cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, growth equity investments, alternate vehicle investment structure transactions, recapitalizations, reorganizations, divestitures, and debt and equity security investments.
He represents clients across a range of industries, such as healthcare, technology, industrial technology, manufacturing and distribution, financial services and FinTech, and oil and gas. Additionally, Lee advises senior executives, senior advisors, boards of directors, and private equity funds on fund formation, corporate governance matters, portfolio company operations and management, and executive compensation arrangements and separations.
“Over the years, James has developed a solid track record advising private capital providers and their portfolio companies on a wide variety of transactional, structuring, and financing matters,” said John A. Bicks, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ New York office. “His industry experience aligns with many of our firm’s core sectors.”
K&L Gates’ private equity practice represents both the general partner and limited partners of funds that provide private capital, as well as the companies, management teams, and entrepreneurs who utilize that capital to acquire, create, and grow businesses across the entire spectrum and life cycle of transactions in private equity funds — from formation to investment to exit — in leading capital markets cities around the world.
