Leech Tishman Welcomes Lisa Alexis Jones

Leech Tishman is pleased to announce the addition of a new attorney to the firm, Lisa Alexis Jones. Jones joins the firm as a Partner in the Employment & Labor and Litigation Practice Groups in the firm’s New York office. Jones focuses her practice on counseling individuals, institutions, and corporations on a broad spectrum of employment & labor legal matters. Most recently, Jones was a partner with Robinson Brog Leinwand Greene Genovese & Gluck, P.C. in New York.

Jones’s practice includes representing clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Merit System Protection Board, the Department of Labor, and Federal and State court on compliance-related matters involving the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank), the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act (TVPA) and Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA) matters.

Jones regularly assists clients with developing and implementing personnel practices and procedures, due diligence for IPO’s, mergers and acquisitions, structuring executive and incentive compensation, and drafting employment and non-compete agreements. She is highly experienced in conducting litigation in complex commercial disputes involving intellectual property, breach of contract, fraud, fraudulent conveyance and “business divorce.”

Jones is well-versed in designing and managing investigations of misconduct, including whistleblower complaints and sexual harassment claims. She also has experience in a wide variety of industries and particular expertise in handling employment matters for public, private and venture-backed government contractors, distressed companies, technology and biotechnology companies, as well as venture capital firms, and trade associations.

During the course of her career, Jones has also represented individuals in white-collar criminal matters before U.S. trial and appellate courts, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in a range of federal investigations and prosecution of business and financial crimes including bribery of a public official, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, embezzlement and money laundering, bank fraud, false statements and perjury, as well as violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

From 1987 to 1992, Jones served as an Assistant District Attorney in both the appellate and trial divisions in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office where she investigated and prosecuted a wide range of violent and white-collar crime. In 1992, she founded her previous firm and later co-founded the firm of Jones & Towns PLLC. Most recently, Jones was a partner with a large international law firm.

With a long-standing commitment to civil rights and liberties, Jones has been a member of the United States Commission on Civil Rights (DC Advisory Committee) and a Board Member of the ACLU. Her love of the arts and theater has led her to serve on numerous arts-related boards and organizations, including as President of the Historic Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C., producer of Broadway theater, and an officer of the D.C. Bar’s Steering Committee on Arts and Entertainment.
