Linklaters is pleased to announce that Brad L. Caswell has joined the firm’s New York office as partner in the Investment Funds Group. He joins Linklaters from Schulte Roth & Zabel and brings over a decade of in-house experience that uniquely positions him to advise clients, having served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of a large private fund manager in Hong Kong and the U.S., and as counsel at Goldman Sachs.
Brad is an accomplished funds lawyer who counsels hedge, private equity, credit and real-estate funds on operational, regulatory, compliance and formation matters.
He brings extensive experience advising private fund managers on issues related to the U.S. Investment Advisers Act, SEC registration (and exemptions), insider trading laws, conflicts of interest, marketing in the U.S., and anti-money laundering. Brad has particularly widespread experience implementing strong and practical compliance programs and representing private fund managers in SEC examinations.
Matthew Keogh Head of Linklaters’ Investment Funds group commented,
“Brad’s vast U.S. regulatory and compliance experience will further enhance our premier global Investment Funds platform and will give us greater breadth to guide our clients through an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.”
Brad joins a distinguished global investment funds group that maintains one of the deepest and most globally integrated funds practices in the world with experienced funds teams in London, Luxembourg, Paris, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Washington, D.C. in addition to New York.
Tom Shropshire, Global Head of Linklaters’ U.S. practice added,
“Now more than ever clients need trusted counsel to provide advice and solutions to their most complicated problems. Brad’s practical experience, commercial sensibilities and ability to advise on the ever-changing regulatory landscape in the U.S. will allow us to continue to deliver high-quality advice to our clients. We are delighted to have him on board.”
Brad is the third new partner to join the Firm’s New York Investment Funds practice within the past year. He will be joining with Scott Jameson, an associate who specializes in regulatory and compliance matters critical to hedge, private equity and real estate fund managers. Last August, Linklaters welcomed Jason L. Behrens and David C. Miller, alongside senior associate Jason D. Nussbaum and associate Elias N. Gurewitsch from Schulte Roth & Zabel.
