Mayer Brown Strengthens Fund Finance Team With Addition of Partner Thomas Rao in New York

Mayer Brown announced today that fund finance lawyer Thomas Rao has joined the firm as a partner in the Banking & Finance practice in New York. Mr. Rao joins from Paul Hastings LLP.

Mr. Rao has more than 20 years of experience in fund formation and fund finance, including subscription credit facilities. He concentrates his practice in the representation of lenders and investment managers in connection with fund finance matters, including the structuring and negotiation of subscription credit facilities to funds, term loans and revolving facilities backed by fund portfolio assets, and working capital lines to fund sponsors. Mr. Rao also has significant experience representing private investment fund sponsors and institutional investors in connection with investment management matters, including the formation and operation of domestic and offshore funds, separate accounts and private REITs. He regularly addresses issues arising under lending, secured transactions, corporate, partnership, securities, investment management, ERISA and tax laws.
