McDermott Adds Litigation Group in New York

Global law firm McDermott Will & Emery continues to expand its New York litigation footprint with the additions of commercial litigation partners Josh Simon, Warren Haskel and Dmitriy Tishyevich. This group enhances McDermott’s market-leading healthcare litigation practice and adds depth to its growing New York practice, which currently includes more than 40 commercial litigators.

Josh, Warren and Dmitriy join from Kirkland & Ellis, where they worked together in the Litigation Group.

Lawyer Biographies

Josh Simon – Partner

Josh specializes in complex litigation and represents clients in arbitrations and regulatory proceedings, handling ERISA, antitrust, RICO and regulatory disputes for major health insurer clients. He has extensive experience representing clients in class action lawsuits and serves as lead counsel in cases involving claims payment, payor-provider billing disputes, competition among health care providers, provider contracting and medical necessity coverage determinations. Josh holds an AB from Princeton University (cum laude) and JD from Harvard Law School (cum laude).

Warren Haskel – Partner

Warren represents clients in commercial litigation, arbitrations and appeals with a focus on the healthcare industry. His cases involve class actions and other complex disputes, including ERISA, antitrust, consumer protection, bankruptcy law, breach of contract and RICO. Outside of healthcare, Warren has experience representing clients in matters involving consumer products, business software technology, financial services and private equity transactions. He earned a BA (cum laude) from New York University and JD (magna cum laude) from Tulane University Law School.

Dmitriy Tishyevich – Partner

Dmitriy focuses his practice on commercial litigation and arbitrations with an emphasis on the healthcare industry. His work has included ERISA, antitrust, RICO, class actions, contract disputes and product liability cases. Dmitriy has also represented pharmaceutical manufacturers, as well as various technology and private equity clients. He received a BA (high distinction and honors) from the University of California, Berkeley and JD (cum laude) from Harvard Law School.

This group’s arrival follows steady growth for the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group over the past year with team additions in New York, Miami, Delaware and London. At the heart of this growth has been the significant additions to the Firm’s New York office, with added litigation partner resources for securities litigation, financial services litigation and healthcare disputes.
