Morrison & Foerster, a leading global law firm, today announced that Omar Pringle has joined the firm as a partner in its Mergers + Acquisitions and Private Equity Investments + Buyouts practices in New York. Mr. Pringle brings to the firm significant experience advising corporate and private equity firms on their high-profile M&A transactions. Pringle joins the firm from the New York office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP.
Mr. Pringle’s joining Morrison & Foerster underscores the continued growth of the firm’s New York office. He is the third partner to recently join the office, after Mitchell Presser, who joined as an M&A and Private Equity partner and co-chair of the firm’s Global Corporate Department, and Private Funds partner Leonora Shalet. This follows the addition of eight partners to the office in 2019.
Further, Mr. Pringle’s arrival highlights the continued expansion of Morrison & Foerster’s global corporate capabilities, including in the private equity space. The firm has added 10 private equity partners globally in recent years. In 2019, the firm also brought on a highly regarded group of nine corporate lawyers in Miami, representing multinational companies in cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, and financial transactions as part of the firm’s growing multi-practice Latin America Desk.
“Omar’s impressive track record advising both public and private companies and financial sponsors on their most sophisticated deals will greatly benefit our clients,” said Eric McCrath, co-chair of Morrison & Foerster’s Global Corporate Department. “His arrival, coupled with the recent addition of Mitchell Presser to our Corporate Department, will help us accelerate the growth of our private equity and M&A capabilities in New York, while further strengthening our global corporate platform.”
Mr. Pringle’s practice has focused on domestic and cross-border public and private M&A, joint ventures and venture capital transactions for both strategics and private equity firms, as well as advising on general corporate governance.
“Omar is a terrific lawyer whose deep experience working with major public companies and private equity players in the life sciences, agriculture, technology, aerospace, and industrial sectors, among others, has great synergies with the industries that the firm has been a market-leader in,” added Jackie Liu, co-chair of Morrison & Foerster’s Global Corporate Department. “Omar’s experience will further strengthen the firm’s premier technology and life sciences practices in particular, where we anticipate sustained client demand for transactional advice over the coming years.”
“Morrison & Foerster is a well-known global pioneer in the areas of technology, life sciences, and sustainability, many of the same areas that I have focused my practice on over the last decade and the industries that are poised for significant growth in the future,” said Mr. Pringle. “I am excited to work with the team to advise the firm’s clients on their most complex deals here in New York and globally.”
Mr. Pringle earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and his B.A. from Georgetown University. He speaks fluent French and Spanish and is conversant in Arabic. He is admitted to practice in the state of New York.
