Michael C. Kasdin has significant experience advising finance and insurance industry clients on all aspects of insurance and reinsurance matters. He possesses a valuable combination of litigation prowess and regulatory and transactional expertise. Mr. Kasdin has provided regulatory advice to private equity funds, insurers, reinsurers, agents and other insurance industry professionals, helping to foster compliance, obtain transaction approval and develop new products. His litigation experience includes counseling insurers in commercial disputes, as well as representing both insurers and reinsurers in complex coverage disputes. Prior to joining M&R, he was a partner in the Chicago office of Dentons.
JillAllison (“JA”) Opell handles a broad range of regulatory issues for insurance companies, agents, brokers and other clients throughout the insurance industry. Ms. Opell has represented insurers in all lines of business, including accident, life and health, property and casualty, surplus lines, travel and reinsurance. Her regulatory expertise includes advising clients on Holding Company Act issues including acquisitions, intercompany agreements and investment laws, as well as compliance, licensing and Affordable Care Act matters. She also has extensive experience in issues related to corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining M&R, she was a partner in the New York office of Dentons.
