Global law firm White & Case LLP has bolstered its Global Banking Practice with the addition of Nicholas Palumbo as a partner in the Firm’s New York office. Palumbo rejoins White & Case from Goodwin Procter LLP, where he was a partner in the firm’s Business Law Department and a member of its Debt Finance Group.
“Direct lenders now play a critical role in the leveraged finance market,” said Eric Leicht, Head of White & Case’s Global Banking Practice. “Nick has a well-established practice acting for alternative capital providers; he will give us additional bench strength to support existing clients in the space and help us build market share.”
Jake Mincemoyer, White & Case’s Regional Section Head, Americas Banking, said: “The growing number of direct lenders in the leveraged lending market has resulted from the industry maturing and becoming more sophisticated in recent years. Nick’s direct-lending experience will further enhance and round out our existing capabilities to counsel clients on various products offered in the leveraged finance market.”
Palumbo also represents banks, financial sponsors, portfolio companies and other debt investors on debt financing transactions, including leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations.
He has structured and negotiated secured and unsecured syndicated loans, asset-based credit facilities, subscription line credit facilities, junior lien loans, subordinated loans, loan workouts and restructurings.
White & Case’s Global Banking Practice advises banks, sponsors and corporations on leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations, workouts, restructurings, debtor-in-possession financings, exit financings, as well as other financings, such as asset-based lending transactions.
