Norton Rose Fulbright today announced that Gerard Messina and Michelle Carniaux, intellectual property lawyers focusing on patent prosecution and counseling, have joined the global law firm as partners in its New York office.
Messina and Carniaux come to Norton Rose Fulbright from Kenyon and Kenyon LLP with extensive experience in the technology sector. Licensed to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office, both have handled patent office post-grant proceedings and complex patent portfolio review matters.
Messina’s clients include leaders in electronic control systems, computer hardware and software, semiconductors and financial systems. Carniaux represents clients from the computer, electronics, imaging, telecommunications and medical device technologies.

Messina, who has 25 years of experience in managing large patent portfolios, said:

Both Messina and Carniaux are licensed to practice in New York. Messina earned his JD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his BE from Stony Brook University. Carniaux received her JD from Fordham University School of Law and her MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Polytechnic University (now New York University).
