O’Melveny announced today that Natasha Waglow Teleanu, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division in the Southern District of New York, has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in its Labor & Employment Practice Group. She will advise clients on complex labor and employment matters, including workplace investigations and employment litigation.
A first-chair trial lawyer, Waglow Teleanu served as a federal prosecutor for nearly eight years. She handled hundreds of affirmative and defensive matters on behalf of Executive Branch agencies—including civil rights, employment, fraud, administrative, constitutional, and tort cases. She also has conducted investigations connected to the Fair Housing Act, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the False Claims Act, and defended the Department of Labor in litigation challenging its rulemaking under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Waglow Teleanu began her legal career at O’Melveny, first as a summer associate and then as an associate in the New York office. Her practice then involved all aspects of litigation with a focus on representing labor and employment clients. Her return to the firm expands O’Melveny’s East Coast capabilities in the labor and employment arena.
“We are delighted to welcome Natasha as she returns home to O’Melveny. We are particularly proud of her government service, which aligns with our firm’s commitment to serving our communities,” said O’Melveny Chair Bradley J. Butwin. “Natasha is a seasoned enforcement lawyer with a strong background in both employment litigation and workplace investigations. She will enhance our nationally acclaimed Labor & Employment Group and will be an immediate asset to our clients.”
“I am thrilled to return to O’Melveny’s talented Labor and Employment team and rejoin my friends and former colleagues,” Waglow Teleanu said. “O’Melveny has a well-earned reputation for handling challenging workplace disputes. I am confident that my civil enforcement and trial experience will mesh well with the firm’s strengths, including discrimination and sexual-harassment investigations, as well as Title VII and #MeToo cases.”
Waglow Teleanu bolsters O’Melveny’s roster of experienced East Coast trial lawyers, which has recently added several high-profile partners from the public sector, including:
