Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli is pleased to announce the addition of new Shareholder Joshua D. Dill, who has joined the firm’s national Real Estate Finance Practice Group and the New York City office. Dill comes to the firm from the New York office of Paul Hastings LLP.
Dill brings 15 years of legal experience working with investment banks, national and international banks, alternative lenders, and private equity funds in the origination of commercial mortgage and mezzanine loans on properties across the nation. His practice includes the representation of mortgage lenders, subordinate lenders and borrowers in a variety of transactions across asset classes, including: shopping centers, hotels, office buildings, industrial properties and residential properties.
Dill regularly advises clients across the country on the origination, purchase and sale of mortgage loans, mezzanine loans and preferred equity investments. He also has extensive experience representing both mortgage and subordinate lenders in loans intended for the CMBS and syndication markets as well as construction and bridge loans.
“We are incredibly excited to have Josh join our Real Estate Finance Practice. His breadth and depth of experience across the real estate finance industry is truly remarkable,” said Polsinelli Financial Services Division Chair John Duncan. “Our Real Estate Finance Practice has forged a national reputation as a go-to law firm for sophisticated and highly-structured commercial real estate finance transactions. We are glad to add such a high-caliber attorney to our bench as our client demand continues to rise.”
Dill works with clients from coast to coast, covering a similar geographical footprint as Polsinelli. His financial services experience is vast, ranging from representing a lender in an approximately $325 million syndicated mortgage loan with future funding and a $37.8 million mezzanine loan secured by a portfolio of a medical office building and subsequent sale of the mezzanine loan and mortgage loan notes to co-lenders, to representing a lender in a $762 million mortgage loan secured by a San Francisco office building that was subject of a standalone securitization and included in a number of conduit securitizations, and everything in between.
“I look forward to growing my practice at Polsinelli and working with an impressive group of lawyers who make-up the well-known and universally respected Real Estate Finance Practice,” said Dill. “Polsinelli is a leader in financial services practice and I’m glad to be part of this dedicated and growing team. I look forward to connecting with my colleagues here in New York and across the country, taking my practice to the next level at Polsinelli.”
Dill was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® (New York Area) in 2020. He is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey. Dill earned a B.S., cum laude, from Fordham University before receiving a J.D., magna cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law.
He joins Polsinelli’s established New York City office in the midst of its upward momentum. The New York team recently added a pair of Construction Shareholders, Jason S. Samuels and Aaron E. Zerykier, as well as Real Estate Finance Shareholder Jennifer L. Garrett in the New York office.
