Seyfarth announced today the arrival of partners Michael Fein and Jeffrey Lampiasi to its Real Estate department in New York. Also joining the firm in New York are Real Estate attorneys Karen Levine (counsel) and Daniel Kessler (associate). All four lawyers join Seyfarth from Watson Farley & Williams.
“Michael and Jeff are strong additions to our national Real Estate department and the growing team we have built in the critical New York market,” said Paul Mattingly, chair of Seyfarth’s Real Estate department. “They have both built tremendous practices and will expand their transactional service offerings on Seyfarth’s national platform.”
Fein served as the head of Watson Farley & Williams’s Real Estate group in New York and represents investors, developers, financial institutions, landlords, and tenants in the sale, acquisition, financing, leasing, development, and construction of commercial real estate. He has handled billions of dollars in complicated real estate transactions involving a broad range of CRE sectors, including industrial, office, retail, and hospitality. He earned his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and received a B.S.B.A. from Boston University.
Lampiasi represents developers, hotel operators, investors, financial institutions, and many other business sectors in the acquisition, sale, leasing, development, design, construction, and financing of US properties. He also regularly negotiates complex joint venture agreements for investors, operators, and developers. A member of the Real Estate Board of New York and American Institute of Architects, Lampiasi received a J.D. from New York University School of Law and earned his B.A. from Wesleyan University.
“The addition of Michael, Jeff, and their team marks another significant step in our New York growth strategy,” the co-managing partners of the firm’s New York office, Lorie Almon and John Napoli, said in a joint statement. “Michael and Jeff are excellent real estate lawyers, respected thought leaders, and influential members of the CRE community. We’re thrilled to welcome them as new colleagues.”
Karen Levine was the leader of Watson Farley & Williams’s New York Leasing practice and regularly advises tenants and landlords in industrial, office, and retail leasing transactions. Levine received her J.D. and B.A. from Pace University.
Daniel Kessler represents institutional investors, developers, condominium and cooperative boards, management companies, and hospitality businesses with their acquisition, sale, financing, leasing, management, and construction matters. Kessler received his J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and earned a B.A. from City University of New York – Queens College.
The Real Estate group is the latest addition to Seyfarth’s growing New York office. Earlier this year, the office welcomed cybersecurity partner Paul Ferrillo and international litigator Talat Ansari.
