Sabrena Silver Joins White & Case as a Partner

Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Banking Practice with the strategic addition of Sabrena Silver as a partner in the Firm’s New York office. Silver has broad finance experience and a focus in Latin America. Silver joins White & Case from Linklaters, where she was a partner in the Banking Group, co-head of its Mexico working group and head of its Ecuador working group.

For more than 20 years, Silver has advised financial institutions, funds and corporations on complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions involving Latin America (focusing on Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru), Europe and Asia, including acquisition financings, structured financing transactions, margin loans, sovereign loans, asset-based facilities, trade and supplier financings and debt restructurings. Silver is also a co-chair of the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice.

“Having access to a broad range of financing options is vital for financial institutions and funds seeking to finance borrowers across their capital structures and for companies to fulfill their growth ambitions,” said Eric Berg, Head of White & Case’s Global Banking Practice. “Sabrena expands our capabilities beyond the core leverage-finance space and deepens and broadens our LatAm expertise in New York.”

“Latin America is a dynamic market, with shifting commercial and legal challenges and tremendous opportunities,” said Don Baker, Head of Latin America and a member of White & Case’s Executive Committee. “Sabrena’s regional knowledge and experience and broad product coverage will provide us with additional resources to continue to help our clients successfully close complex, cross-border financings in the region.”

Silver is the fourth partner since March 2016 that White & Case has added to its Global Banking Practice, which advises banks, sponsors and corporations on leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations, workouts, restructurings, debtor-in-possession financings, exit financings, as well as other financings, such as asset-based lending transactions.

The Firm has a team of lawyers in Mexico City and São Paulo who work seamlessly with our network of offices supporting and representing clients doing business in Latin America, including in our New York, Miami, Washington, DC, Madrid and London offices, as well as a number of our other offices around the world.
