Seyfarth announced today the arrival of partner Talat Ansari to its Litigation department in New York. Ansari was most recently a partner at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, where he focused his practice on international arbitration and led its India practice group in New York.
Ansari handles commercial litigation and international arbitration matters, regularly advising India-based clients doing business in the US, including large Indian conglomerates, and US industrial and financial clients doing business in India. In addition to handling international litigation and arbitrations, he advises on corporate and commercial transactions (M&A, finance, trade regulations), and infrastructure projects.
“Talat is an experienced litigator who brings with him tremendous dispute resolution skills and client relationships,” said James McGrath, chair of Seyfarth’s Litigation department. “His extensive international arbitration experience, including arbitrations in London and Hong Kong, adds to the existing international capabilities we have in our Litigation and International departments. We have been focused on continuing to grow this practice area and Talat will be a terrific addition to our group.”
“We are delighted to welcome Talat to our growing New York litigation group. Talat joins a premier team of lawyers who frequently counsel clients with global operations on their most complex matters,” said Lorie Almon, co-managing partner of the firm’s New York office.
“Talat has successfully advised companies from a full range of industries in high-level international litigation. His practice is a fantastic complement to the global transactional services we provide from New York,” said John Napoli, co-managing partner of the firm’s New York office.
Born in India and bi-lingual in Hindi and English, Ansari earned a LL.B. from the Delhi University School of Law and received his B.A., with honors, from St. Stephen’s College.
