Sidley is pleased to welcome Germaine Nicole Gurr as an M&A and Private Equity partner in the firm’s New York office. Ms. Gurr brings experience as both a global corporate lawyer and a former executive at a global Fortune 500 company. Ms. Gurr comes to Sidley from White & Case’s M&A practice in New York. Previously, she was vice president and deputy general counsel at Schneider Electric, a global Fortune 500 company.
Ms. Gurr has built an esteemed general corporate practice serving clients across the world in diverse industries, aided by her bilingual capabilities. She has represented clients in a wide array of matters, primarily focused on M&A, private equity, securities offerings, capital raising, joint venture and commercial transactions, and general corporate. Ms. Gurr also regularly serves as an advisor to global companies on legal and business considerations in corporate and commercial transactions, operational structuring and management, and compliance and governance matters.

Additionally, The M&A Advisor named Ms. Gurr the “M&A Legal Advisor of the Year” in 2020. She is also named in Euromoney’s Women in Business Law Guide and Euromoney’s Expert Guide for Corporate/M&A in the United States in 2021.
Ms. Gurr is originally from Miami, and following her admission to the Florida and California Bar, she will practice in the firm’s New York, Miami, and Century City offices.
