Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP announced today that Katherine Krause has joined its Mergers and Acquisitions Practice as a Partner in New York. Most recently, Katherine was a Managing Director in the Legal Department at Goldman Sachs, where she was responsible for supporting the Merchant Banking Division (MBD) in connection with principal investments and dispositions across a variety of sectors, including corporate equity and debt, infrastructure and venture capital opportunities, among other matters.
Katherine advises private equity sponsors and corporations on mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, spin-offs, recapitalizations and other corporate transactions. While at Goldman Sachs, Katherine was also a member of the MBD Infrastructure Investment Committee and MBD’s Client and Business Standards Committee. She also spent several years in private practice advising on private equity mergers and acquisitions.

Katherine received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006 and her A.B. from Harvard College in 2000. She has also studied international affairs at Columbia University.
