Global law firm Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce that Gabriel Yomi Dabiri has joined the firm and will serve as Global Head of Private Credit and Direct Lending. Mr. Dabiri joins from Polsinelli, where he led the Private Credit and Cross-Border Finance practice and served as New York Office Managing Partner.
“Gabriel’s addition is a coup for our firm. He greatly improves our position and will accelerate our growth in the private capital space,” said Jim Barresi, Global Head of the firm’s Financial Services Practice Group. “Gabriel’s experience, relationships and record as a team-builder will be critical as we advance our strategic position in this important segment of the financial sector.”
Commenting on his move to the firm Mr. Dabiri said, “Squire’s substantial global footprint and breadth of complementary practices presents a unique opportunity to build a truly integrated private credit and direct lending solution for clients. I’m excited to work alongside my new colleagues around the world to grow a first rate offering. We’re off to a fast start.”
Mr. Dabiri advises lenders, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers on senior, mezzanine and subordinated loans, unitranche facilities, first lien/second lien facilities, and cash flow, ABL, subscription line and capital call facilities. He also negotiates complex intercreditor and subordination arrangements on behalf of his clients and supports clients on various debt restructurings and bankruptcies, including negotiating debtor-in-possession facilities and advising clients in connection with sovereign-debt crises. He leverages his market knowledge in both “buy-and-hold” credit strategies and broadly syndicated finance transactions to guide clients on a variety of deals, from the routine to cutting edge.
Mr. Dabiri is dual-qualified, admitted to practice law as an attorney in New York and as a solicitor in England and Wales, and has lived and practiced in New York, London and Singapore.
